My best LJ entry yet....

Editor's note:  Overall, I'm satisfied with the job our president has done.  It has been probably one of the most difficult presidencies in recent times having to deal with the destruction of New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina and subsequent recovery efforts, the September 11th attacks, and the the overseas wars in Afghanistan and Iraq trying to fight the radical group Al-Qaida.  I may not agree with him 100 percent of the time and he may be a good president to poke fun at, but at least there's not an intern under his desk.

I was watching the president's address last evening and this thought just came to me. I think the president should be renamed.....to George W. Gulf. At least he should be known as the "Gulf president." Here's why:
  1. He sent the troops to another war in Iraq... i.e., "Gulf War II"
  2. The Hurricane Katrina ravaging the "Gulf Coast", and he's taking responsibility for the slow rescue efforts to the region.
Which got me thinking....what other "Gulf" items should the president get involved with?
  • Gulf Oil - He's obviously familiar with oil, and his facination with "Gulf" makes it a perfect fit.
  • Gulf Islands, B.C. - Move Martha's Vineyard to here.
  • Gulf Stream Coaches - Bush trades in Air Force One for a motorhome
  • Gulf World Marine Park - Bush speaks with the dolphins
  • Gulf, NC - Bush moves his ranch to this small NC town southwest of Raleigh
What other Gulf things are there?  Help me!!

Man, I wish you and Sara (that's right, isnt' it? no h?) lived closer, cause I need people besides Dave to hang out with and you clearly have way too much time on your hands!

And [info]byko, in all his sports geeky glory, is saying that the Gulf South Conference (Division II) is having a "crisis" as Central Arkansas is leaving the conference and moving up to Division I. Bush should get involved and make sure the Gulf South Conference is rebuilt!
